The second largest city of the island following Heraklion, a celebrated holiday destination with thousands of visitors each year, Chania is a city of many faces.

It is quite cosmopolitan, especially in the summer, and in minutes it transforms itself into a historical monument due to the large number of interesting sites, the picturesqueness of the traditional alleys and its citizens' lively way of life. Elafonissos
Around 80 kilometers southwest of Chania, an earthly paradise with beaches of white sand and blue, crystal waters, it is an excellent choice and excuse for a day trip.

Falarssana
58 kilometers west of Chania, the green-blue sea of Falassarna (blue flag) will take your breath away and offer your endless times of enjoyment and wonderful landscapes. 

Fragokastelo
Built by the Venetians in the 14th century, the legendary Fragokastelo is part of many myths and stories.  The locals will happily talk to you about Drosoulites, the dead Cretan warriors and the testimonies of people that claim they have seen armed airy silhouettes walking from the castle towards the sea.

The Municipal Market of Chania
Characterized as a preserved monument in 1980, the Municipal Market of Chania is designed in a shape of a cross and is regarded as an architectural treasure as well as the biting heart of the city.

The tombs of Venizelos family
On the way to the airport, at the Akrotiri peninsula, the tombs of the great politician Eleftherios Venizelos (prime minister of Greece, 1943-1952) and his son, Sophocles Venizelos. The views are simply magical and the history even greater.

Heraklion

Heraklion, the capital of Crete and the 5th largest city in Greece, combines the rapid paces of modern reality with the historic and traditional touches of value in the most harmonic manner.
As ages passed by, the city changed hands and names many times. Chandax for the Saracens, Candia for the Venetians, Great Fortress for the Ottomans, and finally, Heraklion after it was liberated from the latter in 1898.
