Archaeological Museum of Rethymnon
Right at the main gate of Fortetza, the Archaeological Museum of Rethymnon presents exhibits from different areas of the island, covering a large portion of history from the Neolithic era up until the years of the Roman occupation. 

Arkadi Monastery
The symbol of heroic Cretan resistance, the Arkadi Monastery has become a historic monument of great importance and sentimental value for both visitors and locals alike in the last 8 centuries.

Melidoni Cave
3 kilometers from the village Melidoni in Mylopotamos, the famous cave, apart from its natural beauty, has historical value, as it is one of the very few sacred active caves in Crete from the Neolithic until the Roman era.

Archaeological site of Eleftherna
Approximately 30 kilometres south of Rethymnon, the ancient city of Eleftherna had been continually inhabited from the Prehistoric times until the Early Byzantine era. It wins the admiration of visitors and offers a journey into its rich past while walking around its ruins.

Heraklion
